What is WCOPA

WHAT IS THE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS OF PERFORMING ARTS?
For centuries, there has been an exclusive “Olympics” for athletes. This discriminatory practice is being
corrected for performing artists by the creation of the “World Championships of Performing Arts” (WCOPA),
cited as the one and only “official Talent Olympics” for aspiring performers and entertainers. After 20 years of
incredible growth, it is the only international talent and modeling competition of its kind annually held in or
around “Hollywood”, the entertainment capital of the world! Similar to the Olympics, only invited and
qualified competitors (called Worldstars) represent their countries and compete each year in a fierce
competition for “the gold”!

WHAT are “International Worldstars”?
International Worldstars are those achieving talent and models from around the world that have been
exclusively screened, qualified and invited to represent their countries at the one-and-only, ultimate world
championships for aspiring performers and entertainers:
 JUNIOR WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS OF PERFORMING ARTS (JWCOPA) For achieving
performers and entertainers ages 5 to 15.
 WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS OF PERFORMING ARTS (WCOPA)
For aspiring performers and entertainers ages 16 and over.

HOW ARE CONTESTANTS SELECTED AND INVITED?
Like the Olympics, the finest aspiring talent and modeling competitors from countries are qualified and invited.
Every contestant attending the World Championships of Performing Arts system is screened, qualified and
selected under specific guidelines established by WCOPA, and executed by Scouts and licensed National
Directors from the invited countries. Contestant-at-large procedures are available where there is no director.

HOW MANY COUNTRIES WILL BE REPRESENTED?
Delegations of outstanding competitors from approximately fifty (50) countries will be represented at both the
Junior World Championships and the World Championships.

WHAT ORGANIZATION BACKS THE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS?
WORLDSTARS INTERNATIONAL Inc. organizes and manages the World Championships of Performing
Arts (WCOPA), in concert with the International Selection Committee (ISC), which provides the foundation for
this annual talent competition.

WHY do WCOPA?

WCOPA is beneficial for talent who wish to network outside of Jamaica, who intend to explore their talent to levels of professionalism and earning. WCOPA offers the platform to meet with Talent Agents and Scouts, Managers, and Producers, who are looking for talent to cast, scout, represent, and sign, and offer services and products to take their craft to the next level both within, and outside of their country. The possibility may require moving to another country or traveling regularly, to be closer to, or do projects/ assignments within the Entertainment Hub based in Hollywood, Nashville, Vegas, or NYC.

WCOPA is best for:

1. Aspiring talent who wish to network with movers and shakers in the industry in the US.

2. Talent who do not mind and are able to possibly move to or travel regularly to the US for potential projects or assignments

3. Talent who wish to continue or start Art Education in the US, through scholarship awards offered at WCOPA, and do not have any issues with moving to the US to take up a scholarship offered.

4. Talent who want to network with other talent from all over the world.

5. Talent who can successfully gather support and sponsorship through identified mediums, to offset costs to travel and stay at WCOPA.

6. Amateur to Semi Professional Talent looking for professional advice and training from experts in the US, to assist in taking their talent to a Professional Level.

7. Creatives who want to get into a room with Producers, Scouts, Talent Developers, and Managers to take their career to the next level

8. Creatives who want to experience comparing their talent to what is in the world in an Olympics for Performers and Models.

9. Creatives who want to compete and explore Hollywood and its environs

10. Jamaican creatives, residing in Jamaica and living abroad, 5yo to adults. Solos, Duos a,d Groups

WHAT IS THE PRIZE?

Like the Olympics, the IMPORTANT PRIZE is also the “GOLD”, symbolizing excellence! However, the invaluable experiences, training and networking opportunities are the real “prizes” which every contestant receives! As well as winners being presented with a “Gold Medal” in every event category, style and age group at both the Junior and Senior World Championships, there are specific Overall Champions (individuals and groups) in:

JUNIOR: (1) 5 – 10 years (2) 11 – 15 years
SENIOR: (1) 16 – 24 years (2) 25 years and over

Approximately $500,000 in scholarships are awarded. The “Showcase finals” award Grand Champions in the various categories of competition with the ultimate coveted titles being “Junior” and “Senior” Grand Champion Performer of the World!
